kind of the point I was trying to make with the last few lines of that last post. Trying really hard to make sure I keep a few of the people in my life though. (thanks tumblr fairy for making this show up on my dash just like you always do when I need to see something that relates to my feels~)

I've sent out I don't know how many emails since Monday. I got a few messages from families I didn't even contact myself who seemed pretty interested, so I replied and then I didn't hear anything back. womp. I'm stuck between choosing New York or Amsterdam. So I'm just going to wait it out and see how the conversations with the families from each one goes. Both cities would be amazing, soooooo win/win?

I wish I was better at writing.

I got an email from a girl today asking if I was still in Valencia and if I wanted to hang out :( I said no with a heavy heart and pointed her in the direction of my vlc friends. Then not much later got msg from one of said friends. It's weird how you can only know someone for a short period of time yet they make such an impression on you. I feel like I got to know more about some people in the span of three weeks than I know about most people who are constants in my life. It gives me headspins.

Playa De La Malvarrosa.

The beach! I went one day to play volleyball...but had to leave super early because of reasons. So my last night I went with some friends. We didn't get anywhere near the water, haha. Just sat on the sand and talked quite a bit. And people watched. And talked some more.

We had to use the restroom a few times, and all the ones on the beach were closed. And the port-a-pottys cost .30 and we had no money on us. So we walked up the street a ways and found this lil restaurant that had a bathroom. We figured the second time we should probably buy something since we kept using their facility's. We ordered pizza, which took forever to cook. But it was worth it! We talked to the owner (I'm assuming) while we waited and he was super nice. He gave us a free coke and some snacks.

bioparc!

I've never seen a zoo like bioparc. It was so neat.
Here's what the park's wiki page says:

The concept of the zoo, called Zooimersion in Spanish, consists of immersing visitors into the animals' habitat and not vice versa. This is achieved by not using the traditional railings and cages that are common in many zoos, using instead rivers, ponds, streams and rocks to separate visitors from the animals.

The lemur area was pretty neat to say the least. You go through a set of doors and they are just there... Running around all around you. The get so close, one jumped up right next to me, I didn't see it and it made me jump haha. It was on a post about the height of my shoulder. I've never seen a monkey that close before. They looked so soft :3

Welp, i'm home now.

things didn't go that well, which i'm disappointed about... but what can you do. I'm not going to write about it just because I don't feel comfortable doing so...

I tried super hard to find  a different family to switch to but no avail. Then the day before I was supposed to  leave I got 2 calls about families that wanted a new au pair. boo. already changed my flight. I met a bunch of amazing people though who told me if and when I decide to go back they can get me in touch with some really great people. So that's a plus.


I got a bit of a tan and met some amazing friends... so it wasn't a total bust ;)
